LEADER came to Armenia with the official launch of the LEAD Program in 2021. LEAD4Shirak and LEAD4Lori&Tavush Projects are part of the Local Empowerment of Actors for Development (LEAD) Program funded by the European Union. They both are based on the LEADER, which is a rural development methodology that bring the local authorities, the civil society organizations and the business sector together for the development of their local area.
Currently there are 3 local action groups established in Shirak region and 5 local action groups in Lori and Tavush.
